Of course, it works that way only in my dreams when the forcefulness and cogency of my argument makes immediate converts to my truth! Anyone who has ever been married knows the exasperating futility of arguments that seem to go in circles—each partner talks at, and past, the other, desperately seeking to bring the other to their point of view.
In raising the phenomenon to awareness, what was once taken for granted becomes something to reflect on and perhaps challenge. It suggests the possibility that another world could be created.
